Accessibility Statement
Our commitment to digital accessibility
Last updated: February 3, 2026
Our Commitment
Mind-Sprout is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
We believe that educational resources, including puzzle creation tools, should be accessible to all users, including seniors, children, and individuals with visual, motor, auditory, or cognitive disabilities.
Accessibility Standards
Mind-Sprout aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and improve usability for all users.
We also strive to comply with:
- Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements
- Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act
- EU Web Accessibility Directive (2016/2102)
Accessibility Features
✓ Keyboard Navigation
All interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields) can be accessed using keyboard navigation. You can navigate through the site using Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, and arrow keys.
✓ Clear Visual Hierarchy
We use semantic HTML headings (h1, h2, h3) and clear visual structure to help screen readers and users navigate our content logically.
✓ Color Contrast
Text and interactive elements meet WCAG AA contrast requirements (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text and interactive elements) for better readability.
✓ Responsive Design
Our website is fully responsive and works on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. Text and interface elements resize appropriately for different screen sizes.
✓ Alternative Text
Images, icons, and visual elements include descriptive alt text for screen reader users.
✓ Focus Indicators
Interactive elements have visible focus indicators when navigating with a keyboard, making it clear which element is currently selected.
✓ Print-Friendly Output
Generated puzzles are designed to be printed with high contrast, clear fonts, and adjustable sizing options to accommodate different visual needs.
✓ Simple Language
We use clear, concise language and avoid jargon to make our interface understandable for users with cognitive disabilities and non-native speakers.
✓ No Time Limits
Users can take as much time as they need to create, edit, and print puzzles. There are no automatic timeouts or session expirations during puzzle creation.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, we acknowledge the following limitations and are working to address them:
Grid-Based Puzzle Display
Word search and Sudoku puzzles are inherently visual grid-based games. While we provide screen-reader-friendly HTML tables with proper markup, the interactive solving experience may be challenging for users with visual impairments. We recommend printing puzzles in large format or using browser zoom features.
Drag-and-Drop Functionality
Some puzzle customization features may use drag-and-drop interactions. We are working to ensure all features have keyboard-accessible alternatives.
PDF Generation
Generated puzzle PDFs are optimized for printing but may not be fully screen-reader accessible. We recommend using the HTML preview version for screen reader users before printing.
Third-Party Content
We are not responsible for the accessibility of external websites linked from our site or user-generated content in puzzles.
Browser and Technology Compatibility
Mind-Sprout is designed to be compatible with the following technologies:
- Browsers: Latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and other modern browsers
- Screen Readers: NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack
- Operating Systems: Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android
- Assistive Technologies: Keyboard navigation, voice control, switch access, screen magnifiers
For the best accessibility experience, we recommend using the latest version of your preferred browser and keeping your assistive technology software up to date.

We regularly assess our website's accessibility through:
- Automated accessibility testing tools (WAVE, Lighthouse, axe DevTools)
- Manual keyboard navigation testing
